I am trying to install Ubuntu via PXE boot but unfortunately its not working. I am trying to use the iso image I have as a local mirror to the installation. But installation stopped instatantly telling that it is unable to mount cdrom. I found some great tutorials here about the steps : How to use a .iso image as a CD-ROM Repository? But its not working facing same problem. Any suggestions? Thx

Its not being exported over NFS I dont know the reason. Here is my default file:

prompt 1
timeout 20
default install
label install
menu label ^Install Ubuntu
kernel iso-image/ubuntu12.04amd64/install/vmlinuz
append file=http://"server IP"/iso-image/ubuntu12.04amd64/preseed/preseed.seed interface=eth1 priority=critical locale=en_US.UTF-8 console-setup/ask_detect=false keyboard-configuration/layoutcode=us netboot=nfs nfsroot="Server IP":/srv/boot/iso-image/ubuntu12.04amd64 initrd=iso-image/ubuntu12.04amd64/install/netboot/ubuntu-installer/amd64/initrd.gz

Which PC are you trying to mount the CDROM on? You do realise that it has to be mounted on the server, and exported over NFS or HTTP? And then the PXE client downloads all the files over the network? See PXEInstallServer. –  bain May 22 at 0:48

Yeah, I first setup my DHCP server then my TFTP server to import from the PXE server initrd and kernel then implemented NFS server to import media installation. So I followed all the steps described here help.ubuntu.com/community/PXEInstallMultiDistro –  Tanios191 May 22 at 7:56

then when the installation begins the CD mounting failed. I dont know why what is the wrong step? –  Tanios191 May 22 at 8:06

Sounds like it is not attempting to access the files online. Did you edit your pxe cfg to add ks=http://.../ks.cfg and then create a ks.cfg file with url -- url http://.../ubuntu/ ? –  bain May 22 at 9:35
