I have a Qosmio X500-13R with Ubuntu 14.04 LTS in dual-boot. Since I installed it I've had an issue with the wi-fi speed. It connects just fine and has no problem accessing any website. The thing is the speed doesn't go further than 300 KB/s although I have a 100 Mbps connection. I didn't have this problem with Ubuntu 13.10. Has anyone been able to find a solution?

With what did you measure the speed? Might it be that you have some kind of a restriction somewhere? –  Hannibal Apr 28 '14 at 21:16
With the browser's download speed indicator and with the sftp client. I don't think I have a restriction in the network because I achieve full speed while using Windows 8.1 (same PC). –  Duarte Cecílio Apr 29 '14 at 21:51
You could provide more information by using software that measures you connection, like mtr or traceroute. You could also try different protocols to see what is affected by the problem -- perhaps it is only encountered with sftp and http-connections. –  krax May 14 '14 at 16:31
