Every time when I boot my computer, it says that /dev/mapper/cryptswap1 is not ready then freezes. it'll only work on the live version using a cd of Ubuntu 12.04 and i have tried other things like trying to change fstab but i get this:

overlayfs / overlayfs rw 0 0
tmpfs /tmp tmpfs nosuid,nodev 0 0

what should i do?

that didnt work. i need to be root or the primary user in order to edit /ect/fsatb files. which i dont know how to do –  Ponce94 Apr 25 at 17:48

Root privileges you can gain with sudo before command. sudo nano /etc/fstab. In fstab find line with similar code and fix to look like this /dev/partition none swap defaults 0 0. Next step is to save and exit nano editor. Then restart pc and probably your problem will not appear. –  2707974 Apr 26 at 12:02

I get this in fstab overlayfs / overlayfs rw 0 0 tmpfs /tmp tmpfs nosuid, nodev 0 0 should i add it in there? And it also freezes at the login page. –  Ponce94 Apr 30 at 4:30

You already have line for swap partition. In that line only change value for partition. –  2707974 Apr 30 at 6:12
