I am trying to connect to Wi-Fi of my school. It connects to Internet, and I am able to run it on firefox but it fails to work on terminal. I get these outcomes:

and stops there..

Are you behind a proxy at school? This might be helpful then. –  Klaus Warzecha Apr 19 at 8:22
    
Could also be a firewall issue. Less likely than the proxy nowadays, but many places will block outgoing connections for what they consider uncommon ports. –  l0b0 Apr 19 at 8:24
    
i am at school right now.. when i use the PCs that are connected, they do connect. But why would it fail on terminal while it works on firefox?.. –  abdul Apr 19 at 10:35
    
oh and i dual boot my system .. and it fails to connect to wifi on windows.. before i deleted 13.10 and installed 12.04, ubuntu used to fail to connect while windows connected.. ANy ideas? –  abdul Apr 19 at 10:36
