Are you behind a proxy at school? This might be helpful then. –  Klaus Warzecha Apr 19 '14 at 8:22
Could also be a firewall issue. Less likely than the proxy nowadays, but many places will block outgoing connections for what they consider uncommon ports. –  l0b0 Apr 19 '14 at 8:24
i am at school right now.. when i use the PCs that are connected, they do connect. But why would it fail on terminal while it works on firefox?.. –  abdul Apr 19 '14 at 10:35
