I'm trying to use my laptop connected to my TV via HDMI, but it just doesn't works. It won't clone the screen for the tv and also don't change the resolution on the TV

Samsung series 5 530 the model of the tv

Everything is installed for the Drivers. It usually worked with ubuntu 10.10 im just having this problem with the 11.04 that's why i think the problem isn't the drivers or the tv

Well, for one thing we will need at a minimum is the model of the tv. What would be better is if you looked in the tv's manual and looked up the maximum supported resolution. You'll need the laptop to run at a supported res. before the tv will be able to display it. – Ctuchik May 23 '11 at 15:53
Did you install the video drivers? Are you using an ATI or a nvidia card? – chrisjlee Jun 21 '11 at 16:03
Graphics chip for that laptop is Intel GMA X3100 according to google. – Seppo Erviälä Jun 23 '11 at 13:43
