My external hard drive is notbeing detected after upgrading to 11.04. i have tried creating a mount point tweaking /etc/fstab and /etc/mtab. dmesg returns an error 

[ 2110.520060] usb 1-8: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 16
[ 2110.588044] hub 1-0:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 8

I have upgraded my laptop to 11,04 and it detects the external hard drive without any difficulty. Any help?

Possible things to check: change the usb wire, change the usb socket. Please reword the 2nd line from the bottom. It's confusing. And also add the brand and version number or the drive. Thanks. – Rinzwind May 23 '11 at 7:34
