This is getting annoying that my XFCE desktop on a Xubuntu 12.4 fresh installation does not store any of my desktop modification to its settings , for example I've added Keyboard Layout widget to the top panel and added alternative language and keyboard shortcut to trigger the language change, or in another case I've modified the settings in "gmusicbrowser" to jump to tray icon on close, but none of these setting modifications are remembered for the next XFCE session. What am I missing?

Is the save session checkmark checked on GUI shutdown? –  fleamour Mar 25 '14 at 9:03
where is that option ? –  NOVIA Mar 25 '14 at 9:06
It should be checked by default with a fresh install. Top right -> shutdown dialog -> shutdown -> square window in middle of screen. –  fleamour Mar 25 '14 at 9:08
thanks for your answer, but unfortunately there is no such option, here is a snap shot of my shutdown dialog : dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/46602409/… –  NOVIA Mar 25 '14 at 9:14
Hmmm, I have not used Xubuntu for a while, there will however be a setting somewhere... –  fleamour Mar 25 '14 at 9:16
