I am installing OpenStack in my Ubuntu-12.04-X-64-bit which is on host OS that is Windows 8.

I am following tutorial from stackgeek.com

But when I change /etc/network/interfaces file to

# loopback
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

# primary interface
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet static
  address 10.0.1.100
  netmask 255.255.255.0
  gateway 10.0.1.1
  dns-nameservers 8.8.8.8

# ipv6 configuration
iface eth0 inet6 auto

The wired-connection is disconnected. Any solution???

This doesn't work too.

# The loopback network interface
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

# primary interface
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet dhcp

# ipv6 configuration
iface eth0 inet6 auto

In ipv6 section you have auto on wrong place. Replace with dhcp or static, based on you router configuration. –  2707974 Mar 25 at 10:56
