Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have a server at uni that I can ssh into from home. From there, I can ssh into my work computer and I have access to a NAS I have mounted. I can't ssh directly into my work computer.

What I would like to do, is mount the NAS folder onto my home computer. If this is possible, I'd like to make it mount every time I boot up the computer.

I've tried a few solutions I've found on the net, with a few problems. I'm not sure which port to use for the tunnel, if that's even necessary. When I finally got something that looked like it worked, I get issues of not being able to cd into the mounted directory because of 'permission denied'. Then when I tried to su it I get an Authentication failure.

Any ideas?

Thanks, James
