I have installed Ubuntu 13.10 on my Asus UX32VD which had Windows 8.1 installed. It's now a dualboot and everything seemed to work fine, I was able to boot use Ubuntu, restart, use Windows, all great. But when I shut the system down and then tried to start my Ubuntu would hang at "Loading initial ramdisk".
Coincidentally I found out that having a USB drive plugged into the machine Ubuntu would boot fine. I have tried this many times now and Ubuntu only boots when I have a USB drive plugged in. Restart succeeds to boot without USB drive.
Some information about the System:
Linux laptop 3.11.0-17-generic #31-Ubuntu SMP Mon Feb 3 21:52:43 UTC 2014 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
I have tried to find a solution for hours, googling and reading all relevant posts I could find, but I didn't find anything that would resolve this.
