I was running Windows 7 when I decided to delete some partitions belonging to an installation of Fedora. When I shut down Windows and returned to it, I found this error message:
error: no such partition
Desperately, I booted up my bootable flash drive version of Ubuntu 12.04 and searched Google for an answer which led me to this:
I followed the tutorial up to the point where I came to reinstalling grub and got this zinger:
┌───────────────────────────────┤ Configuring grub-pc ├────────────────────────────────┐ │ │ │ GRUB failed to install to the following devices: │ │ │ │ /dev/sda │ │ │ │ Do you want to continue anyway? If you do, your computer may not start up properly. │ │ │ │ Writing GRUB to boot device failed - continue? │ │ │ │ <Yes> <No> │ │ │ └──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
I am unsure as to whether I should proceed or what options I should take.
