Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I was wondering if there was a (somewhat) easy way to know when I can connect with PuTTY after starting up the machine, since I will not have a monitor hooked up to it directly. I don't really want to have to go through a bunch of trouble just to check if it's ready.

Idk, since the server is hooked up to the same network as the computer I will be connecting with, maybe the server can send a Dialog Box saying Ready (or something)? I honestly have no Idea, but that would be very awesome if I could get something like that to work
