I am running Ubuntu Desktop 12.04 and I want to make an outfacing interface that hands out external IPs mapped to my hostname for ease of use with Iptables.

How should I configure this?

You own a block of public IPs, or you want to assign IPs to external devices connecting to you? –  dobey Mar 3 '14 at 21:27
I want to create a network card for a dynamic IP, as you would for an internal network configuration but with my external IP. I can't configure a static external IP because my router doesn't support it –  user240010 Mar 3 '14 at 21:58
You can't hand out external IPs to devices, unless you own those IPs, and they are properly routed. You have to give out internal IPs to the network, and route them through your router/external IP with address translation, etc… –  dobey Mar 3 '14 at 22:16
