I am trying to install any form of the 3.13 kernel on ubuntu 13.10 however, I am unable to boot into the Desktop with it.

I have tried to install 3.13.1,2,3. Unfortunately to no avail.

On the internet I did not find anything specific other than normal install procedure. Could you please tell me if there is any other step I am missing?

Why do you need Linux 3.13 on Ubuntu 13.10? –  i08in Feb 16 '14 at 8:43
Because I have an AMD HD7770 video card and I have seen on numerous forums that this kernel version brings performance improvements. –  zerobarat1 Feb 16 '14 at 8:47
