My problem is when I tried to install Ubuntu, a message said wrong disc found.

also it said that there is a CD, but not for the installation.

it appeared at the point of installation, in there it detected and wanted to install the rom drive.

How can I install the server version?

System configuration

AMD A4 4000 APU
MUSHKIN chronos mknssdcr60gb sata3
Samsung DVD rewriter sata connected
AsRock fm2a55m-vg3
geil 4gb ram

update Ubuntu 11.x is installed with password and internet connection.

mabo has a password, too, to get in the uefi.

The pc is from last year, didn't know any kind of production numbers or anything else, like that.

Another question, is there a user interface in Ubuntu server, like in Windows or Ubuntu, or is it just like the terminal?

How did you create the CD? What files did you download? – Mitch Feb 16 '14 at 8:07
a friend of mine, loaded the images over the regular website and he burned the images of two different dvd's, with nero burning rom. – Cold as Ice Feb 16 '14 at 16:14

On the pc (Server), i have the Ubuntu 10.x installed. I could't see any files on the DVD, with the (Files) Explorer. not watched in brasero or anything, like that! i tryied out, if i copy it on the harddisk, and then on a usb stick, but i couldn't see any files on the dvd, so my try out, was lost. i want try out if i could install it over a usb, but how i sayd before i couldn't see any files on these DVD'S. – Cold as Ice Feb 16 '14 at 16:34
he uses nero 9 version. – Cold as Ice Feb 16 '14 at 16:52

Please follow below steps: 1. Please re-check if the DVD is written correctly in bootable format., for that please check the contents of the DVD by keeping in known good PC

  1. Please check if your target system detects CD/DVD ROM
  2. change your BIOS settings to Prioritize the CD/DVD ROM to top
  3. there should not any major difference between server or desktop installation except for few server applications that can be installed
  4. also check the possibilities of installing Ubuntu through USB

Hope this helps.. cheers
