Everything was working with my dual screens (through AMD Catalyst) and then I needed to change motherboard (to an identical one) because of a faulty network card and now suddenly I can't seem to get AMD Catalyst working again. I have tried to reinstall the drivers according to the command line instructions but when I get to the

sudo aticonfig --initial

step, I simply get aticonfig: No supported adapters detected.

lspci | grep -i vga gives 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] RV610 [Radeon HD 2400 PRO/XT]

lshw -C video gives:

*-display UNCLAIMED
beskrivning: VGA compatible controller produkt: RV610 [Radeon HD 2400 PRO/XT] tillverkare: Hynix Semiconductor (Hyundai Electronics) physical id: 0 bus info: pci@0000:01:00.0 version: 00 bredd: 64 bits klocka: 33MHz förmågor: pm pciexpress msi vga_controller cap_list konfiguration: latency=0 resurser: memory:d0000000-dffffff

which I guess might be expected given that the above driver installation fails.

When I browsed dmesg I found:

[ 3.775159] [drm] radeon defaulting to kernel modesetting. [

which seems to show some error, but I do not know what it means. Any suggestions?
