I have an Intel i5 660, I've installed only Ubuntu 11.04 but when I boot my screen remains black, I can hear classic login sound but nothing happen, unique way to enter in Ubuntu is in recovery mode and all works perfectly.

So I suppose that problem is in grub..

Can someone help me, are several days that I'm tring to resolve it without find a solution :-( here my .xsession-errors:

So you never see Grub either? And are you dual booting? –  Seth Hikari May 10 '11 at 7:53

Also are you using HDMI? –  Seth Hikari May 10 '11 at 7:54

Do you use it on a laptop? maybe you disable the video output .. on my case just press fn + F7 –  Warung Nasi 49 May 10 '11 at 8:02

I dont think the problem is with grub. Most probable cause of this type of problem is faulty graphics driver. If you are using propriety graphics driver then try disabling them and use ubuntu drivers.

At beginning I think the same but the graphic card is intel and I'm usimg default driver no propriety, when I enter in ubuntu I pass pefectly unity test.. –  haltman May 10 '11 at 7:38
