Every time I click on the File Manager Folder and after it opens I notice a couple seconds later a Second File Manager window opens. Any suggestions?

does it do this always or just once after you logged in to the system? –  JohnnyEnglish Feb 5 '14 at 15:50
did you try to run in terminal sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade and also try sudo apt-get dist-upgrade because this was reported to be a bug in Xubuntu 12.04 using Thunar as default file manager, so you might wanna have to set Nautilus as default one if those commands won't help you. How to set Nautilus as default one read here –  JohnnyEnglish Feb 5 '14 at 16:17
This happens every time I open File Manager. So, try one of the commands or both commands? How do I set the Nautilus as default? Set it as default before the commands or after? –  MoRent Feb 5 '14 at 21:13
run the commands and see what will it act like after the update, usually fresh start (reboot) after upgrade if it was works the best. –  JohnnyEnglish Feb 5 '14 at 22:06
Thanks looks like it worked! I appreciate your help! can you help me out on something else, maybe you can help me on this one also. On my desk top I installed Ubuntu 12.04 on the slave drive. On the master drive I have Windows Vista. I unplugged the master drive when I installed Ubuntu to avoid any mistakes. When I was done installing Ubuntu and rebooted the computer (booting from master drive) I got this message...error: no such device: 42b5645e-9e24-4551-bdfe-259699182345 grub rescue>...The only way to boot windows vista is on the slave drive. Can you help? –  MoRent Feb 6 '14 at 2:53
