If I run sudo ls; sudo ls in an X terminal emulator, it will prompt for my password twice. If I do the same thing on the native console, it prompts once. I've tried it with xterm and gnome-terminal.

I'm running 11.04.

I do not see this behavior. Have you modified etc/sudoerd? Have you some alias for sudo? – enzotib May 8 '11 at 19:17
