I just tried installing elementaryOS (like the looks of it and the way it "feels") and ran into the following problem:
When I try to boot, it says "grub error; no such device; grub rescue". Now I am not a linux pro, but I have run into that error before and was always able to solve it with boot-repair.
This time however, no luck. Boot repair always gives me "grup-pc purge cancelled". http://paste.ubuntu.com/6832975/ Here's the bootinfo link.
What I have tried to do:
I have a 60GB SSD with Windows8 on it. I have a 240 GB SSD (mostly for games and video editing), where I have taken 40GB as a Linux partition. I usually installed ubuntu to that partition, put grub on the Windows drive and booted into the 60GB drive no problem.
Now, somehow, this does not work anymore. And the best part: It has also f'd up my Windows bootloader, so I cannot really use my PC at this moment (writing this from the LiveCD).
Did I do anything wrong? I already tried to install everything (including grub) to the 240GB drive, but that also did not work (and yes, I booted into the correct drive that time).
