Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

There are old versions of some system packages for:

  • Header files related to Linux kernel version 3.11.0
  • Linux kernel headers for version 3.11.0 on 64 bit x86 SMP
  • Linux kernel extra modules for version 3.11.0 on 64 bit x86 SMP

I selected them which could be seen in the screenshot and they are 516 MB in total. Should I remove them manually or will they be removed automatically later? If they are not necessary, which command(s) will remove just old versions of multiple packages completely?
