I have installed kernel 3.5.0-030500 and when I try to boot in normal mode, after a Loading initRamDisk message, it shows bad display and it hangs the system and I need to reboot it every time. But when I try to boot it with recovery mode, it works fine... What must be the issue?

Ubuntu 13.10 comes with kernel 3.11 by default. Is there a reason why you want to use 3.5 instead? Also, if you're using a mainline kernel it may lack some required drivers. –  roadmr Jan 7 at 19:09

@roadmr Yeah.. I am not sure whether 3.11 will support intel 3.1 MPSS.. How can I solve the current issue? –  debonair Jan 7 at 19:17

The best way to add additional information to your question is by editing it, with the edit button. It is better visible that way, and comments are mainly for secondary, temporary purposes. Comments are removed under a variety of circumstances. Anything important to your question should be in the question itself. –  guntbert Jan 7 at 19:59
