I am using an HP laptop that originally came with windows 8 installed. I replaced windows with ubuntu 13.10 and, for the most part it works fine (but I suppose after windows 8, even a cardboard box would be a better alternative), but when I close the laptop and reopen it, the keyboard lights come on, but the screen screen doesn't resume. I have read other posts which said to increase the swap size, so I doubled it (from 3682MiB, where the default install put it, to 7364MiB), but the problem however persists. I cannot seem to find a post with a solution that works for me. When I boot my computer up, after I log in, I am bombarded with about 15 report error boxes as well. At the very least, could I disable sleep mode (or is it suspend?) from occurring upon laptop closure?
