I am an absolute newbie to linux and was trying to share a folder between my Ubuntu 13.10 (host) and Windows 7 64 bit (guest). I followed the procedure outlined below:

My problem is that I am not getting the menu options (Machine,Devices,Help) as shown in one of the screenshots in the above link. I am assuming that I can't access a shared folder unless I install VBGuestAdditions. I checked other questions asked by fellow askubuntuites but most of them followed the same procedure as described in the link above.

Any help in this regard would be greatly appreciated. TIA.
