This question already has an answer here:

I'm running Ubuntu 13.10 32-bit in VirtualBox. Once I installed it in virtualbox, I restarted, and it asked me once again to install. I just closed the window, so it went black and about 5 minutes later it opens up as if I had clicked the "try ubuntu" button. It was also very slow, it took a full minute to respond to any action. Any help this time?

When the VM restarted after installation, did you remove the 'virtual CD' (the Ubuntu iso) from the 'virtual drive'? – Ross Dec 31 '13 at 20:57

ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=308 may also be helpful – K7AAY Dec 31 '13 at 22:17

Also, your first post was answered, but more seasoned folks here pulled it. – K7AAY Jan 1 '14 at 7:29
