Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

After a long night trying to get Windows running on my PC, I finally decided to install Ubuntu (there were some strange problems with the drivers). While installing Ubuntu, I managed to establish an internet connection (the setup usually sets up the connection), but after installing Ubuntu can't establish a connection anymore.

Interestingly enough, after typing the IPv4 address manually, the system gets a connection without internet access.

Does anyone know how to get the internet working?

When you set an IP manual, did you set a DNS as well? –  Mitch Dec 31 '13 at 14:54
