Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have a laptop with Intel® Centrino® Ultimate-N 6300 wireless card and Ubuntu 13.10 running in it.

I have to create access point to share my internet with my other devices.

Unfortunately, it does not support master mode and hence cannot create access point via the method in the link https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/WirelessAccessPoint. But in windows, connectify runs fine and creates wireless access point without any hitch.

What is that windows has that ubuntu doesnt?

I hate booting to windows just because i have to create wireless access point. There has to be a workaround!
