The port forwarding works very fine while in windows but as soon as i switch to ubuntu it doesnt!! The only port working is 80 I am using port no. 27960. What happens when someone tries to connect on that port it doesnt but as this is a game server people can see the servers in lists controlled by master servers. So when users connect to my server it gives random ports like 11240, etc etc. While i can connect it using 27960 port through lan as ofc :D Thanks :D

Is this game server at home or is it rented? If it's at home you will have to install portforwarding for this port to the server on your router – DemonWareXT May 3 '11 at 7:17
Yes its a home hosted server. How to do that ? :O. If u mean by port forwarding it. I think it is fine because it works fine on windows – kritya May 3 '11 at 7:22
ok, do you use a router or a modem? you should have a little box that connects to the telephone line write down what it says on in, brand and product. Portforwarding works a bit like follows: if someone tries to connect to the router with a certain port like port 80 the router redirects the request into the internal network eg. your server. It is possible that port 80 is forwarded by default. Now if you use a modem portforwarding is not an issue because you directly use the external IP. – DemonWareXT May 3 '11 at 7:37
