I did a fresh install of Ubuntu 12.04 in English language and then tried to change the language to Marathi from the settings window.

I did the apply system wide but it still won't work. I have also updated the system and installed the Marathi keyboard but it doesn't work.

How can I change the language to Marathi.

You need to log-out and then log-in to apply the changes. Did you do that? –  i08in Dec 20 '13 at 12:10
Are you talking about the display language or the input language or both? –  Gunnar Hjalmarsson Dec 20 '13 at 12:19
I have done the log-out and log-in thing but doesn't work. I want to change the display language. I was able to change the input language. –  प्रश Dec 22 '13 at 3:50
