my friend has recently bought an ASUS X551C with and AR9485 qualcomm atheros wireless card. I installed on this machine Ubuntu 13.10. Now the problem is: when I turn on the machine for the first time the network manager reports that the card is disabled by hardware switch (note that on this machine there's no physical hardware switch). When I suspend the machine and turn it back on the wifi works fine. The same exact thing happens to the USB Huawei broadband stick (E173S). This is what lshw spits out

Can you help me with this?
