I'm very new to Ubuntu and the first problem I found was the lack of options for dual monitors. My Geforce GTX 780 isn't recognizing the second monitor, so After installing the nvidia drivers they didn't show up on my "additional drivers" and then subsequently broke unity. After reinstalling 13.04 twice due to different methods of installing the driver (which still broke unity) a solution I found was sudo apt-get install nvidia-313-updates followed by sudo nvidia-xconfig. This hasn't resulted in anything shown in the "additional drivers" tab. I don't know how to install the nvidia drivers where they won't break unity, and where they will enable dual monitors or even show up as drivers.
