Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

When I start Xubuntu 13.10, before the wallpaper and xfce-panel is loaded, I get a grey screen. It is a matter of 1 or 2 seconds. But it is starting to annoy me.

I am using composite. But disabling it doesn't change anything. Also I disabled systemd and xfce-power-control is taking care of my power settings.

Moreover, I am also using the PPAs related with XFCE 4.10 and XFCE 4.12.

Does anyone have the same problem and a solution?
