Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

So I made a directory for samba and it works. Now I secured it and I can't acces it. I followed these steps: https://help.ubuntu.com/12.04/serverguide/samba-fileprint-security.html

And followed till: admin users = melissa

I have this in my smb.conf:

[share]
   comment = Ubuntu File Server Share
   path = /srv/samba/share
   browsable = yes
   security = user
   guest ok = no
   read only = no
   create mask = 0755
   read list = @sambashare
   write list = @adm, loko
   admin users = loko
   valid users = loko

When I go to my ip address I see my directory share.

So now when I click on it I have to log in but it wont let me acces when I try to login with the user loko

What is going wrong?
