Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I'm currently using the default 12.04 precise login screen, and I'm using xmonad as my window manager. I'm trying to determine a good place to put an xrandr call before xmonad is loaded, otherwise xmobar seems to not render correctly on the screen.

Without xmobar, calling xrandr doesn't affect xmonad in any negative way. I figured .xsessions might be one place to do this, but I'm not sure if that file is even taken in consideration by the default Ubuntu desktop manager selector, so I could use some advice here.
