Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free.

11.04 is nice, I like it but it is freezing, I have NVIDIA 6600gt, the drivers I have loaded are the recommended ones. the additional driver program gave me two choices 73 and then one it recommended but it didn't tell me what build it was.

So I'm in 11.04 recovery mode because of the freeze and that goes back to the old 10.10 desktop screen.

It doesn't tell me what drivers it is using in the recovery mode but it doesn't freeze. I want to use the regular11.04 any advice.

When you say recovery mode, do you mean "Ubuntu Classic (Safe Mode)"? If that is the case then your problem is likely not the "keyboard and mouse freezing" but rather a compiz issue. – RolandiXor May 2 '11 at 1:42
This question should instead be filed as a bug report, thanks! Instructions here. – Jorge Castro Feb 4 '12 at 20:02

Are you sure you aren't using version 173?

Verify by executing this from the Terminal:

cat /proc/driver/nvidia/version

you will get this as part of the output:

NVRM version: NVIDIA UNIX x86 Kernel Module 270.41.06

If you see something older than what I show above, you may need to reinstall the current version.
