There are many by default there is Rhythmbox .

Musique player for ubuntu for installing this use-

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:nilarimogard/webupd8
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install musique

Nuvola Music Player ,for installation use -

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:nuvola-player-builders/stable
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install nuvolaplayer

Clementine Music Player , for installation use -

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:me-davidsansome/clementine
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install clementine

Personally i use VLC for playing video and all for installin g it either use Ubunut Software Center os -

sudo apt-get install vlc

There are many other options like - Banshee,Amarok,and Exaile.

Install them and check what suits you better.
