Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I've done a clean install of ubuntu 12.04 LTS on my HP ProBook 4540s. I've done it several times, but now there was something different. I had windows 7 on it, which I've removed by formating the partitions at the installing. I've made a 300mb fat32 efi partition for boot a 3gb swap area and an ext4 for root/home.

Grub did not work, as usually, so I've done the boot repair, using live boot from a USB. It still won't work. Grub does not want to show up. It said something like I should set my system to boot from sda1/EFI/ubuntu/grubx64.

How should I set it? What could fix this problem.

Thank you.
