Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I want to create a new bootsplash screen for Ubuntu that has 2 logos (a text saying "Ubuntu" + " starting Ubuntu..." / "Shutting down"), changing background colours during boot (like on Windows 8) and only one colour at shutdown.

I have made a copy for testing here that loads windows 8 PNGs, but the colours seem to load too fast.

Can make plymouth load many colours without using background PNGs?
