if your pc connected to a wifi network, you can't share that internet to your android mobile via creating hotspot. –  Avinash Raj Nov 30 '13 at 6:42
You can plug your device in and choose to use the laptop's net connection. –  Projjol Dec 1 '13 at 6:59
I think Android phones do not support ad hoc connections, so even when you connect your laptop via a wire I think there is no way to share the connection with your phone (or at least not without rooting your phone) but I would love to be proven wrong! –  Wouter Dec 1 '13 at 7:54
@Wouter you can create a hotspot on ubuntu through which you can share the internet to android phones. –  Avinash Raj Dec 1 '13 at 8:52
