I'm running Ubuntu 11.04. It doesn't recognize my video card [Nvidia 9400GT] so I have to run it in the classic mode.

I cannot connect to Internet [i am using a DSL connection] to get some drivers.

Note : the video card works just fine when using windows, as well as the network.

When you say you are using a "DSL connection" is your laptop plugged directly into the modem or do you have some router/switch setup that is providing a local network. – crasic Aug 17 '11 at 18:29
Forget the video card for now, that's probably just the proprietry nvidia drivers. Get the network working first :) I would ask for more info but the asker hasn't been on the site in 6 months. Flag for deletion? – Caesium Nov 28 '11 at 13:54

Use the ethernet port and cable and connect the computer (hopefully a laptop, only for the sake of mobility) directly to the modem. – dago May 31 '11 at 19:38
