Ask Ubuntu is a question and answer site for Ubuntu users and developers. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I use ubuntu 13.10 desktop. I was trying to install the Ubuntu on my galaxy core GT-i826,

I created a backup, the next step was to unlock/root the phone. So I had to go into recovery mode. But here I had the big surprise that the Ubuntu from the laptop could not recognize the android anymore, something related to MPT, in recovery mod. From the guide, On your computer, in a terminal, run sudo fastboot oem unlock, on the device screen, accept the terms of unlocking and yet that accepting terms message never appeared.

Is there any other solutions ?

I also tried installing go-mtpfs, but it seems that the repository is no longer usable. so another fail.
