In Ubuntu, I can set the proxy in System Settings. Then it asks for my sudo password to edit certain files.

  • What are these files?
  • Where are they located?
  • What lines are added or modified?

I am asking this question because I am using Crunchbang, which does not have the System Settings GUI like Ubuntu does.
