I've been using the XFCE desktop for about a week now, and my touchscreen worked fine in it at first. However, it has stopped working in XFCE, although it still works in Unity. I'm using an ASUS Q301L.

What I did to make this work was use the command "xinput" to examine my drivers. Google which of the drivers listed is for your touchscreen if it isn't obvious. Mine was Atmel Atmel maXTouch Digitizer, so I did the command "xinput enable 'Atmel Atmel maXTouch Digitizer'". (Don't use the double quotations in the commands; I don't know how to format things on here.) –  Matt Simpson Jan 30 at 16:55
