I am fairly new to Linux and I have been trying without avail for the past couple of days now to get my internal wifi to work.

I am running 13.10

My wifi card is Intel Corporation Centrino Wireless-N 2230

The device does not show up at all in rfkill and when i run i just get

    0: hci0: Bluetooth
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: no

what I get when I run sudo lshw -C network is

    *-network

Also i can access wifi with an external usb network adapter by belkin and i can access the network through ethernet.

any help in troubleshooting this further or fixing would be greatly appreciated!

Are there any clues in the message logs? dmesg | grep iwl –  chili555 Nov 4 '13 at 13:21

Try doing what is covered in this thread: ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2089512 –  GM-Script-Writer-62850 Nov 5 '13 at 15:21

I did what it said on the thread, re-downloaded the iwlwifi 2030-6.ucode and placed it in the lib/firmware, and i also reinstalled the firmware like they suggested but no go. the difference that i saw was that his wifi card showed up in rfkill but mine doesn't. It did make some progress in that like the person in the thread, iwlwifi was showing up in that library but now it is –  Matt Nov 5 '13 at 16:12
