I have HP G- series laptop which was 2 years old. My laptop has two OS Ubuntu and windows7 home basic but ubuntu boots. My windows7 was very slow so I wanted to run my recovery disk.In the middle of that recovering process there was sudden power cut so I have no battery backup so laptop did shut-down. After when I on my laptop there written that "no partition found grub rescue ". After that I wanted to run my disk again but when i pause my start-up there was no BIOS set-up. I read some answer from u that there was a direct way to boot by pressing f9 or f10. After that ubuntu did boot I select ubuntu it started but screen remain unchanged with written ubuntu in the middle. I did this again with windows 7 there was also same happened that the screen remain unchanged with written "starting windows". Also I tried with ubuntu live disk same thing happened in screen. I am not getting any solution please help me and I m waiting your answer........

If you are okay losing any data that was on the laptop: You can boot a live USB with ubuntu, use gparted to reformat your hard drive, reinstall windows and ubuntu. –  OSE Nov 1 '13 at 18:17
If you are going to re-install, no need to reformat the hard drive, just start installing OS, the target partitions will be reformatted as a part on the installation of any OS. –  bodhi.zazen Nov 1 '13 at 19:11
