Yesterday I installed fglrx and rebooted. Now once I login the screen stays black. I've tried booting into nomodeset but can't get the terminal to let me uninstall fglrx.

I am just learning linux and trying to figure out how everything works still.

After you've booted, can you press Ctrl-Alt-F1 to get a terminal? –  Ash Oct 31 '13 at 3:01
Yeah that lets me run terminal. Thanks. Finally got my screen back to showing the desktop. Thanks so much –  Jhs Oct 31 '13 at 13:09
No problem. I'd post an answer, but while I guess my tip helped, it was only the start of the process. You can always "answer yourself" here, with the steps you took or links to resources that helped solve the problem. Others with the same issue might find it useful. –  Ash Oct 31 '13 at 13:30
