After running menuconfig, I tried "make" command and I get this..

End of Linux kernel configuration.
Execute 'make' to build the kernel or try 'make help'.

root@nikhil-Inspiron-3537:/usr/src/linux-2.6.33# make
  CHK include/linux/version.h
  CHK include/generated/utsrelease.h
  CALL scripts/checksyscalls.sh
  CHK include/generated/compile.h
  AS arch/x86/kernel/entry_64.o
/tmp/ccem3TK6.s: Assembler messages:
/tmp/ccem3TK6.s: Error: .size expression for do_hypervisor_callback does not evaluate to a constant
make[2]:[arch/x86/kernel/entry_64.o] Error 1
make[1]:[arch/x86/kernel] Error 2
make:[arch/x86] Error 2

Please help me out, how to proceed from here.

There's an error in the assembly code... Why are you trying to compile a kernel anyway? Just install it using apt-get.. –  Joren Oct 30 '13 at 18:58
