There are couple of friends of mine who would like to give Ubuntu a try. I don't think they'd be pleased to know that they won't be able to play their music or movie collection when they install it. Some of them don't have an Internet connection to download the package. So I was wondering if I could distribute the Ubuntu Restricted Extras package with the Ubuntu CD image. Am I allowed to do so? Or does it violate copyright?

Really, how I anyone supposed to know or notice what you have did? But anyways, I think that Ubuntu Extras are not limited in that way, but in way of not being FOSS so they are not distributed with FOSS software. –  10robinho Oct 18 '13 at 18:19
So do you think I can distribute them? –  user152748 Oct 18 '13 at 19:42
As long as you don't sell that, nobody cares what you burn on DVD for your friend. Check this. –  10robinho Oct 19 '13 at 10:36
