I am using the 'udev library libudev' to detect connection and disconnection of displays (monitors) on my system. The display names reported by udev are found in the /system/class/drm directory on my system. The names look like the following:

card0-DP-1
card0-HDMI-A-1

I am also using xrandr, which reports display names that look like the following:

DP1
HDMI1

Clearly, the two libraries are talking about the same names, but the names themselves differ. Can anyone out there tell me how I can map the names found under the /sys/class/drm virtual file system with the names reported by 'xrandr'?
