I know that I can run ubuntu from a usb stick using an iso and some software like unetbootin. Also, I can install the iso using the installer in the live session in a usb stick.I am wondering if what is the best or ideal way to have a portable ubuntu in which I could save any changes and have a reasonable speed.

I found that using toram option could speed up the system by loading everything in ram. Unfortunately, they say, it doesn't work with persistence option.
